Navigating the Smart Hort® Demo

After your download completes, follow the instructions on the left to get started. If you have any questions please contact us for assistance.

To help you visualize how you will use Smart Hort in your business operation a Smart Hort® demo is available. This download provides you with full access to the program but does not allow you to input additional data.

To begin, download the smarthortdemosetup.zip” file available … download now. Copy it to a temporary file and run the Winzip (or equivalent) extraction program. Double clicking on the extracted Smart Hort Demo Setup.exe file; this will open the Install Wizard and install the program. To run the demo click on “Start” > “Programs” > “SmartHort” this will take you to the Smart Hort® Main Page.

It is recommended that you visit the Manage Module first as this is where you set up your business operations. Subsequent modules may be visited as you wish; some basic definitions and descriptions are provided below. If you require additional information please contact us.

  • Buckets (scanned picker product containers and assigned grower/station)

sort Sort Module >

  • Buckets (assigns product to sorters, pickers, grower and station)
  • Bins (same)
  • Quality Control (assigns % of payment to sort stations for each sample period)

pack Pack Module >

  • Pallet Inventory (available in controlled inventory option)
  • Package Inventory (all packages first scanned into this inventory)
  • Outstanding Pre-ship Calculator (filling of pallets and orders, provides a continual updated sold and unsold inventory)
  • Ship Order (scan shipping label onto transport)

grow Grow Module >

  • Records inputs and all associated data required from the application of Insecticide/ Fungicides, Herbicides, Fertilizers and Orchard Monitoring.

field Field Module >

  • Field Activity (records work progress/pay piecework)
  • Employee Day (same as other modules)
  • Quality Control (daily % of payment for quality of field work completed)
  • Upload Work Types (allows you to specify the field activities you wish to record)
